Wilderness View Cabins is nestled in the heart of the Chattahoochee Forest and sits right next to Fort Mountain State Park. If you are a hiker or mountain biker, The Pinhoti Trail can be accessed across the street from our cabins and Bear Creek is just down the road. Fort Mountain is a favorite route of road cyclists who come from all over the country to experience its challenges and hikers climb our scenic mountain byway to meet the Appalachian Trail. If fishing is your passion, you can walk from your cabin to our catfish pond in less than five minutes or drive 10 minutes to many excellent trout fishing spots. You can even hire a fishing guide who’ll teach you to fly fish and take you to favorite hidden rivers and streams where trout abound. If you like adventure, try navigating the Ocoee by kayak or white water raft, tubing down the Coosawatee, Ellijay or Cartecay Rivers, or reaching new heights by zipline. All are a mere 20-40 minute drive from Wilderness View Cabins. Horseback riding is 10 minutes away and three golf courses are nearby. Whatever outdoor activity you’re in the mood for, Wilderness View Cabins, in the north Georgia mountains, has it: fishing, hiking, swimming, rafting, golfing, biking, tubing, and horseback riding. With endless days of clean mountain air and cool breezes, surrounded by the most beautiful setting in the state, you’re sure to come back again and again.

Ellijay Apple Houses & Information
Gilmer County, home of Ellijay, Georgia, is Georgia`s Apple Capital of the State. With home to a variety of different apples houses, anyone visiting the area should plan on a visit to at least one of them to really get a feel for the area!
For two weekends in the month of October, Ellijay features the Georgia Apple Festival, right at the fair grounds in town! There are over 300 vendors that visit the North Georgia Mountains to be a part of this great event! This festival features over 300 vendors with homemade crafts, excellent food, and on-site demonstrations!
Hiking
North Georgia is home to a countless number of hiking trails and our cabins are just a short distance from them! Just a few miles down the road is an entrance to the Pinhoti trail, Bear Creek Trail, Fort Mountain State Park, and almost in infinite amount of others!

Just to name is few, Chatsworth and Dalton are home to Fort Mountain State Park, Carter`s Lake, The Chief Vann House, and many, many more! Just a short drive from any of the cabins or the Inn, Chatsworth is just down the road, waiting for you to explore!
Things To Do in Chattanooga
Most of our cabins are located on top of Fort Mountain, just 45 minutes from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Enjoy a stay in our secluded cabin, then drive to the city for the day and explore all the exciting activities located in the area!
Things to do in Ellijay
Located in the midst of the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains, the square of Ellijay is a great shopping experience. Here you will find art and antiques as well as great dining. There are many seasonal apple houses that you can visit and even pick your own apples to take home with you not to mention many outdoor activities and tours you can visit!
Things To Do In Jasper & Talking Rock
Nicknamed "The First Mountain City," Jasper, Georgia may be small but has some great things to do! Just minutes from Talking Rock, Georgia one of its notable events is the Georgia Marble Festival which takes place the first week in October.
North Georgia State Parks
Windows to the past can be found all across Northwest Georgia in the Historic High Country region, where the Blue Ridge Ridge mountains begin their ascent. As a major settlement for Native Americans, a plethora of historical sites and beautiful State Parks are scattered across the rolling hills and rippling waterways of the our area. Situated in the middle of the Chattahoochee National Forest and Cohutta Wildlife Management Area, Fort Mountain State Park is 5 minutes from Wilderness View Cabins and The Overlook Inn and Lake Conasauga and Carters Lake are a hop and skip away. Once you`ve explored Fort Mountain, you can pack up a picnic and drive 30 to 40 minutes to Amicalola Falls State Park, Etowah Indian Mounds, Cloudland Canyon State Park, or New Echota State Historic Park. Tallulah Gorge State Park, Unicoi State Park, and Vogel State Park are approximately an hour`s drive from our property.
